Residential Pressure Washing Services

Unlike conventional pressure cleaning, which only uses water to blast the grime off your siding, Soft Washing utilises specially formulated cleaning agents applied at low-pressure to clean your home.

You get a more thorough and long-lasting cleaning too! The algae and mould inhibitors in our Soft Washing solution delay the reappearance of unsightly algae, mould, and mildew growth on your home’s exterior. This translates to cleaner-looking siding for up to four times longer than you would find with traditional power washing!

Our revolutionary softwash method combines a high volume/low-pressure water delivery system with biodegradable cleaning detergents.  It is gentle, safe, non-abrasive, and effective. It is manufacturers’ preferred method to clean any type of siding, roofs, decks and fences due to its ability to thoroughly clean delicate surfaces without damaging siding or removing paint from painted surfaces.

Window Cleaning

Our pure water cleaning system deionises water by removing all impurities, providing you with that streak-free shine you are looking for!

OUR PROCESS

  1. Fly screens are removed and washed.

  2. Each window is washed by hand.

  3. The window and sill are scrubbed with specially formulated soap and water.

  4. The edges of the window and sill are dried with a towel.

  5. The rest of the window is dried with a squeegee

  6. This procedure will be repeated for every window in your house.

Additional Extras:

  1. Internal window wash

  2. Specially formulated bead and protect application. This provides a special film that is hydrophobic, causing water and other contaminations to bead off. This not only looks better but also extends the time needed between cleaning.

  3. Window frame wash. Sash windows especially gather large amounts of dirt and debris. We go through the process of cleaning the entire frame inside and out.

Roof Cleaning

Tree Change’s cleaning process returns your roof to a like-new appearance, removing those ugly black streaks. We are also proud to offer our plant protection protocols to prevent damage to the vegetation around your home!

Our process:

  1. Pre-soak any plants surrounding your house that may experience runoff or overspray (while we do our best to avoid this, the weather sometimes has other plans).

  2. Application of our in-house algaecide to your roof, killing and neutralising any algae and/or mould growth.

  3. Soft wash roof rinse or pressure wash depending on the level of fowling and roof condition.

  4. A second application of algaecide ensures any mould or algae is 100% eliminated. 

  5. Final soak of any plants surrounding your house to completely dilute any residual chemical.

Our cleaning solution is safe for grass, shrubs, pets and people. It is only active for ~60min before neutralising itself. While very effective in killing all the algae and removing all the pollutants that cause the black streaks, our detergents are diluted to such a point that they will have no impact on your landscaping.  We pre-wet all greenery and water throughout the process to ensure no damage.

We do not carry out spot cleaning as we have found that it is ineffective and unsightly.  The minor stains or streaks on your roof indicate the roof has lost its ability to fight off the algae - the stains will begin to spread as the humidity increases.

Gutter systems are designed to control water flow away from your home, preventing many problems. Here are the most common issues that can occur due to blocked gutters.​​

  • Cracked Foundations – When water is allowed to settle around your home’s foundations, it will erode the soil your home is built on. This can cause severe cracks in foundation walls and can cost thousands to repair.

  • Insect breeding ground – Free-standing water and debris-filled gutters are a paradise for several species of insects. Mosquitos, wood-destroying insects, wasps, and even termites can live inside your gutters and find their way into your home.

  • Rotten Wood – The result of moisture being trapped and cut off from air circulating to dry out the wood fascia around the house can destroy your home. The rotted area will quickly worsen if the gutters are not cleaned.

Using ladders and walking on roofs can be dangerous if you’re not equipped with the right equipment. Gutter cleaning by Tree Change will guarantee you have clean and free-flowing gutters.

Driveway Cleaning

The concrete around your home is likely one of the most expansive surfaces on your property and is often one of the most neglected areas.

Tree Change can bring your dirty-looking driveways, sidewalks and patios back to their original appearance. We have the experience, the proper equipment and the specific cleaning detergents for every type of job, whether it's dirt, mildew or oil stains.

Properly cleaning a driveway is no small talk. This aspect of the cleaning process is actually more labour-intensive than the cleaning of your home. We use the most advanced surface cleaning equipment to ensure that your driveway is left clean and free of all "wand marks", a telltale sign of a non-professional.

Deck Cleaning

Is your deck looking its best? A simple deck cleaning can do wonders. Natural wood decks (non-painted) can be cleaned to look nearly brand new in most cases.

A special cleaner is used to remove all mould, mildew, and even the grey oxidation colour from the surface of the wood. This leaves the deck clean, free of all debris, and ready to be sealed or stained (or not, if you prefer). This process is exceptionally effective and uses low to medium pressure on all wood surfaces, so as not to “fuzz” the surface of the wood.

The only real exception to a great outcome after your deck is washed is one of the following:

  • The presence of an existing coloured stain or sealer: (Depending on the previous product used and the application of that product, it may or may not wash off 100%. Some products wash off very well, while others are tough to remove. We always use a very high-quality cleaning solution, but this will not always remove all of a previous stain, and it is not a good idea to try to “blast” this residue off with high pressure.

  • Marks from flower pots, grease spots from BBQs, fixtures mounted to the deck, sap, and previous stain residues may not be removed and may be visible after cleaning or staining.

  • Some pine decks may have green colouring on the board from the factory pressure-treating process.

In these cases, we generally recommend cleaning the deck, assessing the amount of residue, and then re-staining the deck with the same previous product, a very similar product, or even a solid colour stain in the worst situations.

Black Algae and Mould

We’re sure you have seen concrete, walls, brickwork, roofs and solar panels with a black colour that has developed over the years (check out the video). This black stain is usually a mix of Black Algae (usually Gloeocapsa magma) and Black Mould (Stachybotrys chartarum). They aren't the same thing, but they're close. Mould is a type of fungus, while algae is a form of plant life.

Fungi propagate by spores, and so do many species of algae, including Gloeocapsa magma. When the microscopic spores land on a suitable surface, such as your driveway, they send out roots that feed on tar, limestone, and gravel. They grow into a colony that can support other organisms, including mould. Black algae isn't a health hazard (apart from increasing the likelihood of a slip occurring), but the mould growth it supports may be.

Black Mould releases mycotoxins which are toxic substances that some fungi produce. Research suggests that mycotoxins from S. chartarum have a link to serious health problems in people who live in contaminated buildings. One such health concern is mycotoxicosis — mould poisoning.

A study found that infants and young children exposed to mould in the home had an increased risk of developing asthma by the age of 7.
